OKB MIKRON is developing international cooperation in the framework of hydropower projects implementation.

On 22 to 24 January, the enterprise was visited by representatives of Austrian ANDRITZ HYDRO, a leading global supplier of electrical mechanical equipment and services for hydroelectric power plants.

Their visit was focused on a technical audit of the current industrial site and the OKB MIKRON centre for heavy engineering under construction, as well as an assessment of the prospects for cooperation in hydropower projects development, in particular, the manufacturing of equipment components for hydroelectric power plants to be based at our enterprise.

The ANDRITZ HYDRO representatives inspected the HEAVYCUT boring machine, which is currently applied for manufacturing of a tooth rim using the original technology, and got acquainted with the production of its welded elements. In addition, the delegation visited the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric plant, where future common initiatives were discussed.
At the end of the event, the parties were involved in a technical meeting where they expressed mutual interest in developing cooperation and discussed the new technology implementation, options for interaction and plans for collaborative work. The ANDRITZ HYDRO technical experts made a point that OKB MIKRON complied with modern requirements for machinery production of highly sophisticated products, as well as a comprehensive approach to labour management.
As a result of the business meeting, the OKB MIKRON capabilities for manufacturing components for hydroelectric power plants were positively assessed and the hydroturbine parts cost was calculated in order to decide on placing orders in the near future.

The ANDRITZ HYDRO delegation visit stimulated the development  of international cooperation between the companies. Scheduled on March 2019, a return visit of the OKB MIKRON technical experts to one of the German plants of the impeller production company is planned to get acquainted with the inventions and technologies of one of the leading foreign enterprises. For hydroturbine parts to be further manufactured according to the ANDRITZ HYDRO technologies, the OKB MIKRON employees will undergo training and qualifying examination in Germany and Austria.
