Experts of OKB MIKRON arrived at the Japanese MAKINO plants with a working visit.

In November, a group of OKB MIKRON employees visited MAKINO production sites, where they got acquainted with the peculiarities of machine tools when processing large-sized products using automation equipment. Our specialists visited plants in Atsugi and Katsuyama, where vertical and large horizontal processing centres are manufactured, respectively.

The technology is being studied as part of the preparation

for the launch of a five-axis D800Z processing centre equipped with an automatic system for installing and measuring blanks. The launch is planned in the first quarter of 2020 in K-1 building.

In addition to the plants, the OKB MIKRON specialists visited the laboratory, which is a place for developing metalworking tools and technologies for enterprises such as Volvo, Boeing, Volkswagen, etc.

Moreover, the colleagues examined the D800Z machine (serial number 113), which is currently being assembled. Its shipping to OKB MIKRON is scheduled for January 2020.
