PINION SHAFT (Z=22; M=16)

This mechanism is a unit that combines the functionality of two elements - a shaft and a pinion. It is made of carbon and alloy steel. The work of the pinion shaft is to transfer the torque from one element to another - the mechanism engages the neighboring gear wheel, transmitting the impact to it. The peculiarities of the gear shaft manufacturing process allow such mechanisms to operate in conditions of high speeds and heavy loads. The monolithic design allows to manufacture gears with the size twice the diameter of the shaft.

The Materials: St09G2S, St40X, St3

Gear shaft is more reliable and accurate analogue of socket pinion. Pair design has found wide application in mechanisms with gears and drives. The pinion shaft has failed to displace the attachment ones only in those mechanisms in which the gear wheel must move along the axis of the shaft during operation.

The finished type of shaft-pinion is determined by:

- The type of shaft - it can be smooth, hollow or stepped;

- axle shape - straight, flexible, cranked, geometric;

- type of teeth - straight, oblique and chevron teeth are made.
